Scott Snibbe compels the viewer to interact with his work is by physical awareness; this is essential in order for an interaction to be completed. The word ‘physical’, in particular, is effective as most of Snibbe’ s interactions need whole body participation to physically bring the art to life and give meaning. This is shown in Boundary Function, created in 1998. This was one of his first interactive art installations that included a floor, projector and a concept. This concept was the idea that by creating these lines that separated two people on the floor it implied that the outlined bubble was our personal space. However, personal space which we described as ‘our own’ is in fact caused by someone else, therefore completely dependent on the others and changes without your control.
